Terms & Conditions

Issue of E-Ticket(s) 

Henceforth, ‘e-ticket(s)’, ‘ticket’, ‘order confirmation email’, ‘booking’, ‘QR code’, and ‘barcode’ are equal and interchangeable.  

Tickets for ‘day entry’ and all events held within Dublin Zoo must be purchased through the official Dublin Zoo ticketing platform, “https://tickets.dublinzoo.ie/tickets”.  

When your booking has been confirmed, an order confirmation email containing a QR code or barcode will be sent to the email address you entered at checkout. The order confirmation email QR code or barcode is the equivalent of your e-ticket(s). No physical tickets can be issued. 

It is your responsibility to check prior to your final purchase that the information you have supplied during the booking process is accurate. Dublin Zoo is only responsible for issuing order confirmation emails in accordance with the information you provide. No refund or exchanges will be offered where a customer has made an error during the booking process. 

Ticket Purchase and Validity 

Once a purchase in completed, the event date for which the booking has been made cannot be changed, unless otherwise stated in the event terms and conditions. Payments for e-ticket(s) are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.  
Unless otherwise stated, e-ticket(s) are valid for the date and time slot of the booking and do not allow entry on any other date. 

For the purposes of ticket purchases, the following definitions shall apply: 

  1. Adult means a person aged 16yrs and over 

  2. Child means a person aged 3yrs up to 15yrs 

  3. Under 3yrs means a person aged 0 up to, but not including, 3yrs 

  4. Student means a person in full time or part time education who holds a valid form of student ID 

  5. Senior Citizen means a person aged 65yrs and over 

  6. Child with additional needs means a person aged 0 to 15 yrs with enduring physical, sensory, mental health, or intellectual impairment, as defined by The Disability Act 2005 

  7. Adult with additional needs means a person aged 16yrs and over with enduring physical, sensory, mental health, or intellectual impairment, as defined by The Disability Act 2005 

  8. Carer means a person who is providing an ongoing significant level of care to a person who qualifies for an adult with additional needs ticket or a child with additional needs ticket.  

  9. Group means a group of 10 or more people, including adults, children, senior citizens, or students 

On arrival the following will be required in order to validate an e-ticket purchased through the Dublin Zoo website: 

  1. A legible version of your e-ticket, which will be scanned on entry (email or printed). 
  2. Appropriate proof of entitlement to any discounted ticket, for example a valid annual pass. 
  3. For student tickets, a valid student ID from a registered education institute that includes photo ID must be presented for inspection when requested. A valid student travel card (with photographic ID) will also be accepted. 
  4. For adult with additional needs, child with additional needs, and carer tickets, a relevant form of ID or documentation that reflects the person’s entitlement to the ticket (such as an As I Am card, Carers Ireland card, or an associated membership card, GP/hospital letter, or diagnosis letter or similar) must be presented for inspection when requested.
    1. A carer ticket is only valid for entry when an adult with additional needs ticket and/or a child with additional needs ticket is purchased for the same entry date. 

Dublin Zoo reserves the right to charge any full-price rate incurred where the correct validation in the above manner is not provided.  

Promotions and Discounts 

Unless stated otherwise in official communications from Dublin Zoo; 

  1. Promotions cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion. 
  2. Promotions are not applicable to groups, or e-tickets that already include a discount, i.e. student, senior citizen, child with additional needs, adult with additional needs. 

  3. Promotions are not applicable to corporate events.  

  4. Customers must meet the required criteria, as set out in promotion advertisements, in order to qualify for the promotion. For example, the promotion might require the purchase of a specific e-ticket type or a specific number of e-tickets.  

  5. Discounted and/or promotional e-tickets are bound by all standard Dublin Zoo Ticket terms and conditions.  

From time to time, Dublin Zoo may offer a promotion in conjunction with a third party and this may include additional terms and conditions enforced by the third party.  

Cancellation Policy 

Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds or cancellations; there is no legal right to cancel as the booking is for leisure activities to take place on a specific date as described in regulation 13 of the European Union Consumer Information (Rights) Regulations 2013 (SI 484/2013’). 

Resale 

Third party sales of Dublin Zoo tickets is strictly prohibited unless otherwise agreed to by Dublin Zoo management 

No e-ticket may be resold without written consent of Dublin Zoo. If any person attempts to enter Dublin Zoo with an e-ticket that has been resold without Dublin Zoo’s written consent, Dublin Zoo may refuse entry and no compensation is payable to that person by Dublin Zoo. 

Attraction Rules 

Dublin Zoo reserves the right to refuse entry, remove from the premises, and/or prohibit from any future entry, any person who does not follow the relevant safety advice, attraction rules, or whose behaviour is deemed to be unsuitable by a member of management.  

  1. In line with standard protocol for recent events, backpacks and large bags are not permitted inside the venue. Only small bags, measuring no bigger than cabin-sized luggage, will be permitted into the venue. 

  2. Persons aged 15yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times while inside Dublin Zoo. 

  3. Guide dogs/assistance dogs are not permitted entry into Dublin Zoo. 

  4. Domestic pets or any other kind of animal are not permitted entry into Dublin Zoo. 

  5. Scooters, bicycles, roller blades/skates, e-bikes/e-scooters, balloons, balls, frisbees, fireworks/sparklers, alcohol, drugs, weapons of any kind, explosive materials, flammable liquids, candles, portable BBQs, large luggage items, and similar are not permitted inside Dublin Zoo. 

  6. Behaviour deemed to be unsuitable inside Dublin Zoo is grounds for removal from the premises.  

  7. Customers are asked to use smoking/vaping shelters when required and to refrain from smoking/vaping outside of those designated areas. 

This is not an exhaustive list and management reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who arrives with an item deemed to be unsuitable.
